Quick and easy scale concrete texture.
I've been working on different 1/6 scale concrete facades for the past few months and accidentally stumbled upon a quick and easy way to replicate both the color and texture at the same time. You'll just need to weather it a bit after it dries. You'll need the following ingredients:
Matte Mod Podge (I do not know of substitutions)
Plaster of Paris
Pigment Powder (black and tan)
Old Brush
Sponge
Water

Awesome!!!! well done!
Never been a fan of washing the whole model, paint it, weather and streak, and over time it gets "weathered" anyway.
Thinner on bandai plastic is NOT GOOD
@@bryantphil5577 first up .. not the bandai kit. Fine Molds. Second, odorless turpenoid is 100% fine as it's super mild. I've been doing this for 24 years as a hobby and 15 professionally and have built a lot of bandai kits. Odorless turpenoid is wonderful.
Just have to watch your fingers from the drill. Believe me i know.
Very simple great job.
Parts
Easy to find those
Cool
Exhaust stains should be parallel to the direction of flight, not on a radius like rust stains. I know the filming model has the same mistakes.
Thanks a lot
What part to what part what ratio please
I have absolutely no idea. It's been almost a decade since I did that and didn't do it again or write it down. Sorry.
Wait that’s moon right?
Wher is the second parte of this vídeo? Plese some one nows?
If it's not here, I probably never made one.
Informative and inspirational. I appreciate all the work you put into this video.
When you are working you forget to speak loud enough for your mic to pick up what you are saying. And we hear a mumble but not what you are attempting to show us. Please speak more into your mic I would love to learn. But I am also 62 years old and need a little volume to be able to hear you clearly. Thank you
I absolutely loath making videos because I'd rather pay attention to my art and technique than worry about all the technical aspects needed for this modern obsession with video content, reels, etc... I make them so infrequently because they're a huge pain in the butt and suck the joy out of work. Comments criticizing (even constructively) the obviously crap videos I begrudgingly make only serve to make me reconsider making any more in the future. They're just not worth the time and hassle. I'd rather make art than content.
The kit is amazing but it is nothing without an amazing paint job ..
Thank you for sharing Ur techniques now i can use all the cabochon's i bought and had for a while now also greay sculptor head of a Boba, i dont know that things Name MISTER
eye look very fairy like very nice of course Ur peice is great thank you for sharing.✨🤓👍🏼
This is great. Just getting in 1/6th scale modelling. I'm so going to use this technique.
I tried this technique. It really works. But I use artist’s pastels. Cheaper and just as effective.
I tried this technique. It really works.
Great vid thank you!
Thanks for sharing your creativity. Had a good time watching. Just keep doing what you're doing...when you want.
Just what I was looking for, great info, but what ratio of sand to resin did you use? Thanks!
I don't remember that at all. Haha! I barely remember the whole project TBH. But I can tell you that I did tests first to get an idea and messed up anyway. That I remember. But that's what I do. Mess stuff up, then learn from the mistakes.
@@FichtenFoo ...then forget the mistakes and what you did to rectify them! Haha, been there, done that, all too often. :D
So other than knowing it was done. We don't know how to duplicate - so truly a DIY project.
cool Brus. (26)
kin cool Brus... (20th like)
really love this, when I first saw your engines I right away thought of computer power source??? just a thought ....love it
13th like
that's cool, have you made any other mini rigs ???
I'd like to make a CAP 2 eventually.
Have you ever thought about making one like it into an actual small computer tower, usb charger port or game accessory kind of thing? I really love it, great work Brus
That looks sharp! How much spacing do you have between the pegboard and the walls? Did you have to use any reflective material?
Just an inch. The wall behind was painted flat white.
_JUST A THOUGHT REGARDING THE FRONT 'BLASTER CANNON'_ ... Have you considered putting a BALL JOINT at the base of the cannon ..? That way, the whole craft will not essentially be, like a Michael Keaton BATMAN COWL -- -- meaning ... one cannot move their neck in the costume and instead, the cannon SWIVELS -- and not the entire Imperial INT-4. D.A.
Thank You for the real time examples, tips & overall information. This is Exactly what I needed to know but only found here! 😊
These are amazing and give my model a new life it never had.....thank you
So I gotta have an impact driver and a specialized tube cutter AND brass tube that just happens to fit inside the styrene tube perfectly? ☹️
I purchased some Abteilung Dark Mud, but they must have changed the formula because it doesn't have any grey in it. Any suggestions for alternative grey oil paint?
This is an actual class... AWESOME!!!!
Well done
Thank you very much. It is very very beautiful and amazing. Thank you for this tutorial.
Hell of a good technique! I’m thinking this can be applied to Star Trek models as well to replicate the “Aztec” panel patterns....🤔
Pessimo video, non si vede nulla
your kits are really good y have the luck to buy 2 of the kits the submarines fish shaped but vecause im from argentina is so expensive for me...im wondering if y could buy you the stl archives so y could printed at home?thanks
I hand sculpted it. Plus I never ever sell stl files to anyone.
@@FichtenFoo ok y undersand dont take it bad is just anotherway to sell your products
@@FichtenFoo y hope you re release many of your kits because y want to buy it some day.
What magic is this? Where can I get these ? 🤗
Cool this is very cute.
Where do you get 1/64 photo etched parts?
Great series!! Can you let me know what size and brand of brushes you are using
This is exactly what I needed to see..
Great video!
Sure as hell wish I knew what I am doing wrong, I can’t even come close to replicating these effects. No matter what I do, the paint turns into a giant muddled mess. I’ve tried different paints, thinners, brushes, clear gloss coat, clear dull coat.. it all turns out the same.
Primed with Duplicolor sandable dark grey primer, base coated with Tamiya Acrylics, then it's oil paint and Weber odorless turpenoid. Don't overwork it during or between steps.
Outstating work - thank you for sharing this. And thank you for all of the tutorials - has helped I me in my sixthscale hobby/career. Did you ever visit the OSW ( onesixthwarrior ) forum?
Mike. How do you use this weathering/streaking technique in the areas that have lots of plant-ons and machinery bits sticking up (the back quarter of the saucer being a great example)? I used the your method on a 1/144 Bandai falcon and everything worked great on the open panel areas (the ocher and filth on Step 2 really gave a warm weather-stained look) but more "complex" areas like the engines or the antenna dish looked a little too black & white. It was almost like I didn't have enough space to get a good streak/smear and would end up with very patchy areas that were too intense and had to be cleaned up with Terpenoid. Similar question goes for the sides of the Falcon with all the pipes and bits. Stark black & white doesn't work well when the panels have the nice ocher tone. I'm getting ready to start on my DeAgo Falcon but I'm worried about these "busy" areas. Thanks.
